Dennis “Denny” Lyle Ahlfs, 80, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Dennis Lyle Ahlfs was born July 7, 1940 to Joseph and Evelyn (Wagner) Ahlfs in New York Mills, MN. After completing high school in Ottertail, MN, Denny enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He later worked for the post office, drove bus for Olander Bus Company, and also owned Big Cormorant Resort. After retiring, Denny worked for himself building and remodeling.
Denny enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, traveling, and he loved his lap dogs. He found his greatest pleasure in helping people.
Denny is survived by his wife Brenda (Buschette) Ahlfs; his children Sandy (Chris) Lindberg of Detroit Lakes, MN, Cheryl (Paul) Wermager of Nisswa, MN, and Randy Ahlfs of Dallas, TX; his step-children Chris Randall of Frazee, MN, and Karly (Kyle) Holm of Detroit Lakes, MN; his grandchildren Lexi (Adam) Thompson of Buxton, ND, Ashley (Alec) Wold of Detroit Lakes, MN, Jenna Lindberg of Detroit Lakes, MN, Tonya Wermager of Breezy Point, MN, Ben Wermager of Nisswa, MN, Jacob Ahlfs of Dallas, TX, Samantha Ahlfs of Dallas, TX, and Shaylee Randall of Frazee, MN; and his great-grandchildren Bryson Thompson, Tayton Wermager, Breccan Wold, and one more blessing on the way.
Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
He will be so missed by so many.
