David (Skip) Roger Gibbon, age 88, passed away on April 5, 2026.

David was born to Raymond and Frances (Boiteau) Gibbon on November 20, 1937 near Milnor, North Dakota where he graduated from high school. David served in the Navy following graduation, and after being discharged he returned to Milnor and worked with his father on the family’s farm.

David married Myrna Odegard on August 26, 1961 at St. Arnold’s Catholic Church in Milnor. The couple lived in the Milnor area for approximately 30 years. David ran the farm while Myrna ran the Prairie Rose Cafe. Together, they opened their home and hearts to foster care. They would often play Gin Rummy, sometimes having to take a break to milk the cows and finish the game when chores were done.

David and Myrna later moved to Star Lake near Dent, Minnesota. Myrna was part owner of the Farmer’s Table restaurant in Dent and David helped an area farmer. Both were happy with their work and the ample opportunity to fish and enjoy the lake. They sold the cabin and purchased a home in Frazee, Minnesota where they had wonderful neighbors, a large garage for David to tinker in, and the quiet life of Frazee.

David is survived by a brother in law Tom (Alyce) Trunck and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Preceding David in death are his parents, his wife Myrna, and siblings: Jean (George) Hammer, Alyce Trunck, Helen Gibbon, Lloyd (Darlene) Gibbon, Marjorie (Hall) Christensen, Marlin (Zella) Gibbon, Leonard Gibbon, Kenneth (LaJune) Gibbon, Mary (Milo) Johnson, and Richard Gibbon.

A Visitation for David will be held on Wednesday, April 15th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee, Minnesota starting at 10 am. The funeral Mass will begin at 11 am with a lunch to follow.
