Darrell Woessner, 71, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2021.
Darrell was born February 16, 1950 in Detroit Lakes, and was the son of the late George and Myrtle (Knudtson) Woessner.
He grew up in Lake Park where he graduated from high school in 1970, and then went on to attend mechanics school. He worked at Hedahls / A&B Automotive for 22 years. He then worked at Lund Boats for 20 years, where he retired from, in May of 2018.
Darrell was united in marriage to Karen (Heier) on October 2, 1976 at St. John’s Height of Land church. They made their home in Detroit Lakes for many years until moving to Audubon 7 years ago. They have two children, Tim Woessner of Audubon, and Lisa Woessner of Fargo. Darrell has been married to his beloved wife Karen for 44 years. During their recent retirement years they’ve enjoyed spending every day together.
Darrell is survived by Karen, Tim, Lisa, his twin brother Duane Woessner of Detroit Lakes, and several nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend
who touched the hearts of many, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a kind man who loved God, his family and friends and his little chihuahua dog Sophie. He enjoyed having his morning coffee at the 59er diner, while visiting with his buddies. He also enjoyed deer hunting, playing cards, going to Branson with his family, and working on home projects as well as helping others with theirs.
