Corrinne Carey, 92, of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at her home. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, MN on Tuesday, December 2, at 2pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. David-Donehower Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Corrinne Aloise Dehen was born on March 19, 1928, to Joseph and Agnes (Masterson) Dehen in St.Paul, MN. At a young age, the family moved to Grand Forks, ND. She graduated from St. James Academy in Grand Forks, ND. While attending high school, she met and fell in love with Louis James Carey. On June 24, 1947, Corrinne married Louis. The couple resided in Grand Forks for about ten years before moving to Detroit Lakes, MN.
Corrinne was a devout catholic and has been a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church since 1958. She had a beautiful voice and sang at numerous weddings and funerals throughout the years. Corrinne loved to knit, spend time with her children and grandchildren, traveling in her younger years with her sisters, and going out to eat with Peggy.
Corrinne is survived by her children Kathleen Schroeder, Tom (Vickie) Carey, Sheila (Al) Gabert, Eileen (Dennis) Fulmer, James (Cathy) Carey, Peggy ( Dave) Harstad, Tim (Monica) Carey, Brian (Lydia) Carey, Mike (Teresa) Carey; 27 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Linda Carey; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Agnes; husband Louis; sons Patrick and Kevin; siblings Beverly Nepper, JoAnn Razook, and James Dehen.
