Clifford Selck

Clifford Selck, age 84, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on August 26, 2026 at his home.

Cliff was born on July 16, 1942 to William and Bethel (Sundre) Selck in Detroit Lakes, MN. He attended school in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy in active duty from 1960-1963 and served three additional years as inactive. After the military, Cliff returned to Detroit Lakes and went to work as a truck driver for Fargo-Detroit Beverage, Jim Beaton Sales, and Waste Management.

Cliff’s enjoyed pitching horseshoes, hunting, and fishing. He also liked listening to country music, woodworking, helping people when he could and is known for making his peanut butter cookies & jerky to share with friends and family.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Karen Johnson of Detroit Lakes; a son, Matthew Selck of Detroit Lakes; a granddaughter, Annie Paxton of Detroit Lakes; grandsons, Isaiah and Aiden Pohl of Detroit Lakes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Bethel; brothers, Ronald Selck, William Selck Jr, and Kenneth Selck; sisters, Darlene Wilson, Ann Fogard, and Betty Wallace.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
