Charlotte Olson

Charlotte Mae Olson 82, of Detroit Lakes MN, passed away on Monday, September 20th, 2026, at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo ND under the care of Hospice with family by her side.

Charlotte Mae (Loewen) Olson was born September 2nd, 1944, to Abraham (Abe) C and Katie (Krahn) Loewen. She attended grade school at Gordon township county school, then went on to graduate from Hampden high school in 1964.

Charlotte worked in the Devils Lake ND hospital with Becky Olson (Neil’s sister). This is who introduced her to the love of her life. Charlotte & Neil got married on March 17th, 1967. During their journey in life, Charlotte loved to travel. They went on many cruises with TOPS (which she belonged to for 50 years) and saw many different countries. Her favorite cruise was her Alaskan cruise.

Charlotte also traveled to Jamaica with her niece Treva Heck to help rehabilitate humanity twice, she wished she could go back, but with her health, she could not make it back.

Charlotte loved her Avon. She sold Avon for 45 years. Everywhere she went, she always had a book that you could look at and take your orders.

Charlotte was a lifetime member to both the DAV & VFW. Her & Neil collected clothes out of the DAV bins for years for charity.

Charlotte was also a walker. She loved her walks. She would call up the kids and say, “Hey you guys doing anything this weekend” we would say “No”, then she would say “Good, you are going on a 6-or 12-mile volk mark walk with me” – What! 😊

Charlotte enjoyed spending her time at the many different racetracks throughout the summers, if it was watching the stock car racing, go-kart racing or drag races.

Within the last year, Charlotte moved to West Fargo to New Perspective, where she was in assisted living. She met many new friends and enjoyed all the actives they offered, especially loved to play BINGO with Steven and the Ice Cream days with Steven. When her health started to decline, she was moved over to Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo where they could take more care of her.

Charlotte is survived by: Children: Norman (Kris) Olson, Nadine (Edward) Harris, Nathan (Amy) Olson Grandchildren: Michael (Sam) Olson, Steven Olson, Shane (Jeana) Olson, Ein Harris, Collin (Sadie) Harris, Macey Olson, Nickolas Olson Great Grandchildren: Lola Harris, Miles Harris, Kayson Olson & Dawson Olson Siblings: Brother: Kenneth Loewen Sister: Audry (Skip) Doyle Brother-in-law: Marlyn Tande and numerous nieces and nephews

Charlotte is preceded in death by: Husband Neil in 2020, Father Abe, Mother Katie, Sister Lois Heck, Brothers: Arnold Loewen, Dennis Loewen Sister-in-laws Annette Loewen, Marlys Loewen and Becky Tande and Brother-in-Law Duane Heck
