Beverly Tougas

December 3, 1962 — June 13, 2025

Beverly Tougas, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Detroit Lakes. Born on December 3, 1962, in Moorhead, Beverly led a lighthearted and devoted life centered around her family and her faith.

A proud graduate of Audubon High School in 1981, Beverly pursued a life of simplicity, always prioritizing the needs of her loved ones. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Leo's in Castleton, ND, affirming her commitment to her Catholic faith, which was a cornerstone of her life. On November 27, 1982, she married Curtis Tougas in a ceremony that celebrated their shared devotion. Their 23 years of marriage were filled with adventures across the globe, where they created lasting memories together.

Beverly was not only a devoted spouse and mother but also a nurturing grandmother to her ten beloved grandchildren: Daniel, Jordyn, Mishaela, Madilynn, Noah, Lincoln, Aubree, Brooklynn, Oakley, and Owen. Her warm presence and loving nature will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her familial commitments, Beverly had a wealth of interests and hobbies. She was an excellent basketball player and enjoyed activities such as gardening, writing, and solving crossword puzzles. One of her greatest joys was baking and decorating Christmas cookies, a tradition she lovingly shared with her family. Her devout nature extended to her love for Jesus, which permeated her everyday life.

Beverly is lovingly remembered by her mother, Janice Hersch; her children, Krystal (Thomas) Bovee, Amber Tougas, Daniel Tougas, Josh Tougas, and Zachariah (Cheyenne) Tougas; and her siblings, Val Gerdes, Laurie Legarde, Eugene Hersch, Michael Hersch, Doug Hersch, and Lynn Hersch. She is also mourned by her good friend, James Clark, and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who were touched by her kindness.

Preceding her in death were her father, John Hersch; her brother, Rick Hersch; her grandparents; and many other family members and friends who have now welcomed her into everlasting peace.

Beverly left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.
