Michael McDougall, 57, of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away at his home on November 13, 2019.
Michael George McDougall was born on March 31, 1962 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Jack and Dorothy (Power) McDougall. Mike was raised and lived most of his childhood in the Minneapolis area before moving to Detroit Lakes to start high school. He was great at math and helped his siblings and later in life his nieces and nephews with the subject. He worked for Harry J’s in Detroit Lakes until they closed. He then began working for Dynamic Homes for whom he was employed for over 29 years before leaving due to ill health. Mike enjoyed riding snowmobiles and dirt bikes in his younger years, he also learned to work on cars, weld and to make jewelry with his father.
Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching with his parents, playing cribbage, board games and cards with his nieces and nephews, and wild ricing with his dad. Mike was fun to be around and loved to play jokes and enjoyed hanging out with his nieces and nephews and go bike riding around the country side.
Mike will be most remembered for his kind heart and free spirit. He enjoyed sharing his love of rock music with his mother, he even took her to her first rock concert, Shinedown before she passed. He was an avid sports fan and watched various games, he especially liked hockey.
Mike is survived by his siblings Lori (Jay) Wolfe, Vangie McDougall, and John (Myrna) Smith; niece Carrie (Marc) Santiago; nephew John Wolfe, and niece Briana Wolfe; aunt Gloria Sargent; favorite cat Maxie and extended family.
Preceding Mike in death were his parents; and sister Ramona Rae; favorite dog Kirby.
