Harry Keezer

August 27, 1928 — July 14, 2009

Harry M. Keezer, 80, resident of White Earth, MN, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Mahnomen Health Center – Nursing Home in Mahnomen, MN. Funeral services for Harry will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 17 at St. Columba Episcopal Church, White Earth. Interment is at the St. Columba Episcopal Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16 starting at 4:00 PM at the Harry and Irene Keezer residence near White Earth and will continue until the time of services on Friday.


Harry Marvin Keezer was born on August 27, 1928 in White Earth, MN to Harry Sr. and Josephine (Weaver) Keezer.  He was united in marriage with Irene Jackson in May of 1951. While living in Minneapolis, Harry opened the Nee Gee Center in 1969. Children from the community enjoyed playing pool, going on camping trips to Duluth, to Walker and Northern Minnesota. Harry loved basketball and started several teams with which he and Irene traveled throughout the states. They relocated to White Earth and for eight years Harry worked for the Circle of Life School as a Hall Monitor. During the summers, Harry and Irene made Indian crafts and would travel the roads by Lake Superior selling them at events.


Harry will be remembered and missed by his two daughters: Harriet “Dove” Keezer-Thompson and Cheryl “Honey” Keezer; his adopted children, Laurie Smith, Robert Budreau and Kenneth Budreau along with 28 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, two great great- grandchildren and one great great great-grandchild.   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene (2008); three sons: Harrison, Vernon “Pork” and Joseph “Jig”, along with one sister.
