George Ludwig

George Ludwig as born May 11, 1916 near Selz, ND to John and Magdelina (Wenning) Ludwig. He was raised and educated near Selz and, in his early years, worked on the family farm. George was united in marriage to Mikelene Heisler January 23, 1939 in Esmond, ND. They lived near Esmond until moving to Fargo in 1954 where he worked as a mechanic for Russ Buick and for Overvold Motors. They moved to their lake home near Prairie Lake in rural Pelican Rapids and George then worked for Tiny's Auto Wrecking in Fargo for the next 37 years. They returned to Fargo in 2006 and George entered Golden Manor in 2011. He enjoyed tinkering, fishing and playing horse shoes. Survivors include Mikilene, his wife of 74 years, 2 sons: Alvin (Valeta) of Otter Tail, MN, Dale of Pelican Rapids, 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 2 brothers: Michael (Virginia) of Fargo, ND and Adam (Dolly) of Jefferson, WA. He was preceded in death by a son: DeWayne, 2 grandchildren: Allen and Ashley, 3 brothers: Nick, Edward and Joe, 3 sisters: Mary, Julia and Ann and a sister-in-law: Theresia.
