Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Monday, December 23 at 10AM. Visitation will take place Sunday, December 22 at David Donehower Funeral Home from 5PM-7PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM. Ann was born July 19, 1921 near Ogema, MN to John and Christine (Toupal) Stech. As a young girl she attended a rural country school by Ogema. On September 24, 1940, Ann was united in marriage to Fred Rothschadl in Ogema. Together they raised their children on the family farm. Ann was instrumental in the day to day operations on the farm. She would milk the cows, work the hayfields and take care of their chickens. She grew a large vegetable garden during the summer to help provide for her family and after harvest, Ann would be busy canning for the coming winter months. Ann loved tending to her flower garden, growing everything from lilacs, peonies, hollyhocks and tiger lilys. With her strong Czechoslovakian heritage, Ann was noted for her baking, especially "kolaches", a Czech pastry that her family thoroughly enjoyed. In 1988, Fred passed away and Ann moved to Detroit Lakes. Ann busied herself volunteering her time at St. Mary's Hospital's gift shop and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. She loved socializing with people and always had a warm welcome and something freshly baked to share with everyone who visited her. Along with volunteer work, Ann enjoyed doing crafts and was a past member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and Homemakers Club in Waubun.

Ann will be remembered and missed by her daughter: Margaret (Frank) Payn of Longview, TX and son: John (Karen) Rothschadl of Waubun, MN. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Cindy (Lyle) Wilson, Scott Simonson, Laurie (Trevor) Johnson and Amy (Andy) Nelson along with seven great-grandchildren and two brothers: Frank Stech of Ogema, MN and Ted (Virginia) Stech of Minneapolis, MN.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, one grandson: Dale Bentley, son-in-law: Glen Simonson along with two brothers and three sisters: John Stech, Bill Stech, Mary Mislivec Elizabeth "Betty" Rothschadl and Christine Blattenbauer.
