May - June 2011 - "Smiles From Home" Care Packages for our Troops

Once again we are asking the Community and Friends to participate as we honor and offer our support in sending “Smiles from Home” care packages to our troops. 

From May 9 to June 30 we invite the community to bring items to the funeral home to be shipped overseas to our military women and men. A list of items requested can be viewed below. 

On behalf of our Troops and David-Donehower Funeral Home, we thank you for your participation in sending “Smiles” from home! 

For security and sanitary reasons all items must be in their original packaging. When possible please choose the latest expiration date. Thank you for your cooperation and support of the Troops!  

FOOD, SNACKS AND DRINKS: 

• NO MEAT PRODUCTS • COFFEE (Folgers coffee singles) 
• POWDER DRINK MIX (Gatorade, Kool-Aid, Crystal Light-single servings)
• SUNFLOWER SEEDS & PUMPKIN SEEDS
• PROTEIN POWDER & PROTEIN BARS
• NO CHOCOLATE PRODUCTS
• Lipton black tea
• Instant Drink Mix (Crystal Light, Kool-aid, single servings please)
• Hard Pretzels / Chex Mix / Wheat Thins / Ritz
• Gum / Hard Candy (must be individually wrapped in large bags)
• Granola Bars / Power Bars / Cereal Bars / Cliff Bars /Nutri Grain Bars
• Fig Newtons, Oreos, Cheese & Crackers - Small Packs

• NUTS: Peanuts, Mixed Nuts (salted preferred)
• COOKIES / Girl Scout Cookies (with chocolate: Oct. - Feb. only!)
• Rice Krispie Treats (Store-bought only)
• Little Debbies® & Hostess® cake products
• Oatmeal Packs (Instant: just add water)
• Caffeinated gum or candy (to stay alert)

• Shaving Soap (No CANS of Shaving Cream, please!)

• Tissues (individual packs; travel size only)
